Know your county process
Florida foreclosures are handled through your county Clerk of Court, with auctions held online. Your county clerk's website shows case status and sale dates — Clay County (Green Cove Springs), Duval County (Jacksonville), Nassau County (Fernandina Beach), St. Johns County (St. Augustine), Putnam County (Palatka), and Baker County (Macclenny).
How to spot a foreclosure-rescue scam
Be cautious of anyone who asks for a large upfront fee to "stop foreclosure," pressures you to sign over your deed, tells you to make mortgage payments to them instead of your lender, or "guarantees" they can save your home. Those are red flags. We never do any of those things. If you encounter a scam, you can report it to the Florida Attorney General or the FTC.
